What are the requirements?
  • Teacher Requirements
    • Eligibility: Able to work in the US or Canada
    • Degree: Completed Bachelor's degree in ANY field
    • Experience: 1+ years experience working with children. Experience can include: classroom teaching, mentoring, tutoring, coaching, home schooling, or alternative education.

  • Tech Requirements
    • Device: Desktop, Laptop, Mac, Surface, or iPad. 
    • Headset: Any headset with a microphone, and stable output/input. 
    • Camera: HD external camera or HD integrated camera (most laptops have it) 

 What does the hiring process look like?
  • Create an Account - Go here and create an official account.
  • Interview (Live demo / Recorded demo) - Applicants choose between two different options on the VipKID portal. 
  • Teaching Prep - 
    • You will familiarize yourself with the VIPKid platform and teaching practices of an online ESL classroom.
    • Learn the fundamentals of: TPR, Student Output, Speed and Language, and Supplementary Tools.
  • Certification Center - Schedule your mock class with a live mentor. Applicant may choose which level(s) to certify for and perform multiple mock classes.
  • TESOL Quiz and Uploading Documents - 
    • VIPKID prides itself on working with highly qualified teachers that meet with the Chinese government requirements.
    • Upload proof of your Bachelors Degree (any field)
    • Upload teaching certificates (if any)
    • Complete the FREE TESOL quiz if not already certified
